Entry fees are R100 for the 5km and the 10km. If you want to do the 10km and need a temporary licence it will be an additional R20.
Late entries will be available at R110 and late entry temporary licence will still be R20. If you enter online a small admin fee is applicable.

South African road runners/athletes must possess a valid Athletics South Africa (ASA) licence to enter and run a 10km+ road race. This is obtained through an athletics club affiliated with ASA. It is compulsory to buy a temporary licence, if you are not a ASA affiliated club member when entering a 10km+ road race. A temporary licence is valid for race day only. A Temporary License is not required for the 5km race.

If you have entered online you can collect your race number, t-shirt (one size fits all) and a copy of the My Joburg Race magazine at Marks Park Sports Club from 4-6 October 2018 between 10h00 and 18h00 or on race day from 06h00 to 07h30. Please bring your proof of payment when collecting. DO NOT COLLECT FROM SPAR STORES IF YOU HAVE ENTERED ONLINE.

Dogs are not allowed inside the venue or to take part in the race.

Only if you plan to win a category prize.

Yes, all participants with prams must start at the back of the field so as to avoid injury to yourself, your child and other runners.

Only if it is in plastic bottles. No glass or gas braais are permitted.

Kids in prams enter for free while the rest do pay – it all goes towards a good cause. Kindly note that kids in prams who enter for free and do not have a race number will not receive a goodie bag. If you buy an entry for your child who is in a pram, they will receive a goodie bag, if you are under the first 16000 finishers.

Please make sure that if you enter your child in a pram that the race number is clearly displayed on your pram in order to receive a goodie bag.

There is no cut-off time. We wait until the last runner comes in.

Yes. Wheelchairs are allowed with special permission granted by the race organisers.

Only professional walkers who qualify to win a prize, should wear a “W”.

You may not sell anything on the day and all advertising is channeled through the official My Race magazine. The 2018 magazine is already published. To advertise in next year’s magazine, contact Free Radical Media at info@freeradicalmedia.co.za.

The SPAR Women’s Challenge Joburg does not have stand bookings available.

Lucky draw slips are torn off and placed in the draw bin by race staff at the goodie bags collection point.

No – simply arrive, participate in the race and enjoy the days’ festivities.

The 5km starts on the corner off Hill and Umgeni Road. The 10km starts on the corner off Hill and Buffalo Road.

Prize money payments will be done every Friday, after the doping test results. Please check your account carefully before phoning to enquire.

Although it is not compulsory, SPAR would appreciate it.

Yes, men can also take part but they do not qualify for lucky draws or prize giving. They will however receive a goodie bag.

Accredited and dedicated SPAR parking officers have been appointed to direct race participants and spectators to our dedicated free and safe parking areas. Please look out for the parking officers wearing yellow branded SPAR vests and official accreditation badges. Do not take any directions from any other unofficial parking guards.

Yes. There will be a clearly marked medical tent on the field manned by qualified staff.

No announcements will be made regarding a lost child until the end of the day. Please enquire at the lost and found area. To help us please write your cell phone number on your child’s arm.

For lost possessions please go to the lost and found on Race Day.

Results will be announced directly after Race Day. Race results will be published on www.finishtime.co.za.

Even if you don’t win first place, the first 16 000 participants to cross the finish line will still receive one of SPAR’s famous goodie bags jam packed with pampering treats and brand new products all donated by our wonderful race sponsors and partners. Don’t forget to collect yours after you cross the finish line. Please note that goodie bag contents may vary.
